Practical Information
What is the reason of low or high electrolyte density?
- if the density of electrolyte is low, it may be caused by overcharging of your car's generator or there should be a short circuit in your car
- if the density of electrolyte is high, your car might be overcharging.
For both of the conditions, you should see authorized dealer of BÜLBÜL Battery.
What is the reason of an explosion of battery? There should be an obstruct at the plugs of your battery. To overcome this situation, please make BÜLBÜL Battery dealer to make the necessary maintenance according to guaranty conditions.
I have no march power. What should I do? If you have no march power, your car should have short circuit or low charge capacity or problem at cable connections or battery should be broken down. Ask for the solution of the problem from the nearest BÜLBÜL Battery dealer.
Measuring the charge level
- Density of the electrolyte inside the battery is measured by a hydrometer.
- The density should be corrected to the temperature of 27C. This will give you clues about the battery's condition.
- Measure the open circuit voltage of your battery with an electronic voltmeter. If the value written down there is between 12.7 and 12.9 and the electrolyte density is around 1.280 g/cm3, your battery is fully charged and ready to be used.
Inspection of your car's electronic equipment
- Check the electronic equipment of the car when a crippled battery has been brought or when mounting a new battery. The most common problem is overcharge or lower charge at car. Check whether the regulator charge shows between min. 13.8V and max 14.4V in a car working with 12V battery in stepped on the gas. If the values read on the tester, get your electronic equipment checked to a technician.
- The coal in your march engine, charge generator or alternator can diminish after sometime. You should make them checked to a technician.
Battery Maintenance Instructions
- Dry charged batteries has about 1 year shelf life under normal conditions (25C) and in non-humid area,
- FIRST ONE GETS IN, SHOULD GO FIRST,
- If batteries will be kept wet-charged, a tampon charge is necessary once in a month,
- Working area should be ventilated well due to gas outflow at charging,
- Batteries should not be leaned to beware of acid leakage because acid is corrosive and caustic,
- Do not OMIT the maintenance and the clearance of the battery,
- If the level of the electrolyte is low, add ONLY distilled water to fill the cells,
- Do not forget to switch off the lights and other electronic devices after parking your car. Your battery may run out of charge,
- You have to buy a battery having much more ampere, if you have devices in your car getting more amperes than your battery can produce,
- Beware of using the devices, that are using high ampere, together,
- If you have to make welding on your car, you have to detach the cable from the negative pole of the battery,
- You are not suggested to keep your battery low charged at low temperatures like 0C or below, your battery's electrolyte may freeze,
- You should use converters to convert 24V to 12V if your car uses 24V electric power, thats because if you do not use converter, one of your batteries may exhaust faster than the other.
